About

The Mind Garden is a progressive mental health studio, tucked into a quiet pocket of Cranbrook. The gardening element of the name matters. It speaks to the idea that our minds — and our lives — can be cultivated, no matter the starting point.

Like any garden, sometimes the soil needs attention before anything can grow. There can be a bit of repair work required before we’re able to truly thrive. And just like in a garden, no two plants are the same — some flourish in shade, others need full sun. We’re not so different.

Growth doesn’t happen by accident. It comes from understanding what’s happening beneath the surface, and creating the right conditions for change. It also comes from clarity — knowing what you want to grow. If you’re hoping to harvest corn, planting peas won’t get you there.

The Mind Garden is a place to explore all of this. A place where we can walk together as you shape a life that feels intentional, grounded, and your own.

I’m Zahne Castley, and I’m a Registered Psychologist and Wellbeing Coach. I’ve been working in government, not-for-profit and the private sector for the last nineteen years, helping people turn some of life’s most challenging times into lessons from which to grow.  I also help people find more of the good stuff in life - more joy, meaning and pleasure.

As a psychologist, I offer counselling to people who are suffering with depression, anxiety, stress or adjusting to difficult situations.  We work together to help you to cope and to recover.

I also offer Positive Psychology coaching sessions, to help people who are mentally well, but feeling like they’re a bit stuck. With a Masters in Applied Positive Psychology, I love helping people to discover how to thrive in their life.

In my spare time, you could find me talking to my chickens; attempting to cook something delicious (and hoping my family will love it); or heading out for a run. I love my wine red, my coffee black, and my hugs tight.

It would be a privilege to join you on your journey.  If you would like any further information, feel free to contact me at: zahne@themindgarden.com.au
